The heart and main attraction is the Four Cross event at night.
On the Planai a UCI World Cup in Four Cross will take place. The Mountain Bike Four Cross is comparable with the spectacular Snowboarding event "Boarder Cross". 4 bikers start together and hunt each other down a windy and bumpy race course.
700.000 Watt of lighting output is required to keep the permanent Four Cross race course perfectly lit as bright as day for the bikers and crowds.

Markus Pekoll, Austrian Top Downhiller, 4crosser and one that has tested the Planai mountain says:„the 4-Cross is next to the Downhill the most spectacular mountain bike discipline. As soon as they start the bikers are involved in nail biting biking duels!“
Only the first two progress through to the next round. Those who deal with the Planai's race course full of jumps, waves and sharp corners, which is known as a difficult challenge, has allready earned a respectful name in mountain bike scene.

By the way, Schladmings 4-Cross track is the longest on the UCI World-Tour with a race time of between 40 and 50 seconds - a normal 4x run does not take longer than 30 seconds. That is a guarantee for more exciting position changes.

This event is an attraction that is difficult to top - you can follow the competitors from top to bottom - it is great live action that is to be found under floodlights. We all know what that means …“
